Judy joined the Quality Learning and Teaching team as Academic Lead for the Faculty of Science from the position of Project Manager, Online Subject Enhancement in the Faculty of Education after having completed 3 ½ years as Courses Director in the School of Information Studies. Her work gained her a Faculty of Education award for Academic Excellence in 2014, and a Faculty Team Award for Academic Excellence in 2016 for leading the Smart Learning implementation in two courses. Judy has engaged in a number of initiatives and projects across CSU, and in industry online environments through activities as diverse as running a national social media community for information professionals to providing seminars and keynotes to industry professionals. Leveraging technology, Judy established the CSU Thinkspace platform for online learning journals, project websites and ePorfolios. Passionate about online learning, she also established the Master of Education (Knowledge Networks & Digital Innovation), teaching into the course to foster innovation in digital environments. Judy commenced her serious working life as a sub-editor on the Medical Journal of Australia, and editorial assistant for the Australian & NZ Journal of Surgery, before moving into education, libraries and technology across primary, secondary and tertiary education sectors. Judy joined CSU in 2011 where her work has often focused on online learning design, innovation, social media and technology for learning and teaching. She is pursuing Doctorate study at La Trobe focusing on digital scholarship in higher education. Judy likes to stay in touch with emerging technologies, particularly in relation to participatory online learning experiences. Judy is a doctoral candidate at La Trobe with a focus on digital scholarship in higher education.
